Transporting chemicals from one location to another is a potentially dangerous activity that requires training and experience. Therefore, DEHS provides chemical laboratory moving services free of charge to University of Minnesota labs that are moving from one location to another. DEHS will only move chemicals, we cannot move lab equipment or supplies. Lab staff are responsible for packaging the chemicals according to the Laboratory Moves Guidelines, while DEHS is responsible for safely transporting the chemicals to the new location.
Because chemical lab moves are not a routine service provided by DEHS, at least 4-6 weeks of advanced notice is needed for scheduling purposes. It is critical that you contact us early in the process in order to make the move as safe and efficient as possible.
