Found in mild to warm soils and on slowly decaying plants.
Potential Opportunist or Pathogen
This species is only occasionally pathogenic (26).
Potential Toxin Production
Can produce the mycotoxin sterigmatocystin. This toxin has been shown to produce liver and kidney damage in lab animals.
Conidia dimensions 2-4 microns (5).
